Jackie Du Plessis at Hobby House

July 25 @ 8:00 am - July 28 @ 5:00 pm

$650

Registration Open, but some classes are full:  Jackie du Plessis will be teaching three classes at Hobby House. Descriptions below and each is individually priced.

Thursday, July 25:  Carmen’s Sampler:

In Jackie’s own words: “Carmen’s exquisite Spanish-styled sampler glows beautifully, as the light reflects on the different Satin-stitch combinations. Most of the stitches are worked over three linen threads on 45 ct Legacy Linen with luxurious Soie de Paris. The sampler measures 39″h x 13.5″w, and while this may sound daunting, your love and appreciation of Carmen’s sampler grows as you explore the bands and motives. The motives seen in the center section are stitched as Cross-stitch over-two and only the personal information section is stitched over-two. The color combinations of Carmen’s Sampler is soothing and graceful, it truly is a work of art.”

10am-6pm:  Includes lunch and cocktail reception

Friday, July 26:  Berrylicious

Jackie described this class as:  “Strawberry, blueberries, blackberries and cherries, some tart, and many super sweet. Filling my basket and contented heart.”

These two sentences describe Berrylicious perfectly! Attendees will have the option of a painted ($775) or an unpainted ($650) cherry wood basket with a delicate swing-handle, decorated with a stitched linen panel. (Deposit price is the same. Registered attendees will be asked their preference at a later date.) The stitched linen panel will be used to create the exterior of the basket’s body, plus a pincushion adorned with stitched berries will be mounted to the bottom interior of basket. The stitching features all things berries and uses only the finest of hand-dyed silk fiber, AVAS silk.

10am-6pm:  Includes lunch and cocktail reception

Saturday, July 27-Sunday, July 28:  Sadeli Workbox Class

This is the fourth in the Anglo-Indian Workbox series that debuts at Hobby House Needleworks.

A soothing color palette featuring subtle greens and metallics are used to create the stitched linen panels that are used to produce the a three-dimensional Sadeli workbox with a sarcophagus top panel. The interior will feature functional storage areas to hold and store your cherished needlework tools and supplies.

10am-6pm:  Includes lunch and cocktail reception
